英國《獨立報》7月31日頭版是英瑪褒曼：頭版最能反映報章的品味。
死亡其實是意料中事，但每次聽到心愛導演和演員逝世，卻總是很難受。7月30日星期一，英瑪褒曼和安東尼奧尼像相約好似的，一起離開人世。星期一晚聽到褒曼逝世的消息，腦海立即閃過Fanny and Alexander的父親亡魂、《野草莓》的無指針時鐘、《夕陽舞曲》那個怕死的頑固老頭、當然更少不得那名跟死神下棋的武士。今年原來正是《第七封印》五十周年紀念。
David Thompson在《衛報》專欄說，英瑪褒曼逝世消息傳來，人家問他：「我們還有大師嗎？」他答道：「安東尼奧尼還活着……」殊不知，安東尼奧尼也選擇於同日撤手歸塵了。
一連死了兩個，我連「至少某某還活着想」這想法也不敢有。為非親非故者傷心,或叫外人難以理解；羅馬市長Walter Veltroni向安東尼奧尼致敬的一番說話，大概可道出箇中原委：（引自《泰晤士報》）：
Thanks to Antonioni’s cinema we had another view of reality, another way to look at the face of a woman, the design of a car. Even a cloud was not the same thing after having seen his films.
因為這些大師賦予我們一對新眼睛，世界自此不再一樣。
另，主演過La cage aux folles, Nelly & Monsieur Arnaud等電影的法國演員Michel Serrault也在7月29日死了。這則消息除了法國外,似乎沒有多少人留意。

當天得知 Bergman 和 Antonioni 相繼離去的消息後，由於他們倆位處於我最愛導演之列，本想寫篇東西悼念一下，但那時有其他事情纏著要做，就這樣過了幾個星期後，頹廢懶惰性格使然也就不了了之……
(看看未來什麼時候有時間，與心情(這個最重要)，再為這兩位大師補寫一篇文章)
在電影史留下非凡足跡，擁有響亮名聲與松鶴高壽，在人間瀟灑闖一回，建立不朽地位，而且逝世時基本上也是處於停產退休期，只等待和世界說再見，沒什麼遺憾，兩位大師人生至此，也算是笑著離開，我們應該替他們感到高興多於悲傷。
